In honor of MedicAlert Awareness Month, celebrated in August, Andrea Walker, Community Relations Coordinator at Crittenton Home Care was able to chat with leaders at the MedicAlert Foundation International, a global nonprofit.
Launched as a small charity in 1965, the MedicAlert Foundation is a complete emergency information network designed to safeguard anyone who wishes to ensure their medical needs are met with speed, accuracy and care.
- The nonprofit charity MedicAlert Foundation pioneered the use of medical ID products
- It delivers the most trusted Emergency Identification and Medical Information Network
- MedicAlert provides the functionality of an e-health information exchange through an innovative combination of a unique patient identifier linked to a personal health record and a live 24/7 emergency response service
“As a personal MedicAlert member, I’m reminded everyday of the importance of our services and hope that MedicAlert Awareness Month brings that same level of importance and awareness to millions more in need of our services,” said Karen Lamoree, Chief Operating Officer of MedicAlert Foundation.
